Health Visitors Drop In

Our new resident Flying Start Health Visitors, Jackie, Mandy and Laura will be holding a drop in every Wednesday from 11.30 –2pm if you would like to pop along. Alternatively you can contact them on 01792 584075 for support and advice.

Family Art & Craft Group

This continues to run every Thursday evening from 3-4pm bring all the family along and have some fun spending quality time together.

Our Parenting Officer

Jess is our family facilitator for Blaenymaes and is available to any parents or families in need of support or advice. Give her a ring for a chat on 07584140848. Jess also runs a parenting group every Wednesday morning at the setting, see staff or give Jess a ring if you are interested.

New Staff members

As most of you are aware two of our lovely girls will be heading off on maternity leave before long,  we and the children will miss them terribly but I’m sure they will have a wonderful time with their new wriggly bundles and we all wish them the best!

To cover their absence we have taken on two Butterfly staff members, we

welcome Jenna to the team and are proud to say that our 1:1 support Jordan has now become a fully fledged Butterfly successfully gaining on the post of childcare worker

Speech and Language

Our Flying Start speech and language therapist Melissa continues to join us on a Thursday to provide support to referred children. Parents

involved will be invited to attend and observe the sessions dates to be arranged.

Easter Bonnet Parade

Morning Flying Start & Nursery Friday 4^th April at 10.30 am

Afternoon Flying Start & Nursery Friday 4^th April at 2pm

Junior Hall

        Come and join us for our Easter bonnet parade at the above times! Prizes for 1^st, 2^nd and 3^rd place for each class.

Drop your child off as normal for sessions then meet us over the junior hall for the parade.

Children are free to be collected when the parade finishes.

Language & Play from Friday 17th Jan

Nat will be running a language and play group on a friday morning for morning flying start parents. Spaces are limited so please see staff if you would like to attend.

Baby LAP

Anthony from Early Language Development will be running a group at the setting for babies under one and their parents from 1pm-2.15pm. Come along to find out more.

Story Sacks

This is open to flying start afternoon parents, each week parents and children will be given a sack with a story and activities to enjoy and can then exchange them for a new story sack each week. Spaces are limited so please see a member of staff if you would like to join in.

Speech and Language

Our Flying Start speech and language therapist Melissa will be joining us every Tuesday to provide support to referred children. Parents of all children involved will be invited to attend and observe the sessions  on Tuesday the 11th Feb.

Parents Evening

Parents evening for morning and afternoon children will be held on Wednesday 19th Feb from 3-5pm. Specific appointment times will be given out closer to the date.

Flying Start break up on Friday the 21st Feb for half term and return on Monday the 3rd March

Information for Butterflies Parents only

Dont forget flying start is closed on Monday 7th October to children as staff prepare for the new teams on Tuesday.

Emma & Nat will be on hand to offer support and guide parents and children in the right direction on Tuesday.

Butterflies will now be split into three groups, red, yellow and blue. Every parent should have recieved their letters detailing any changes to their child’s group and keyworker.

This will be an exciting change and we are all looking forward to the challenge.

As always Emma & Nat are available to answer any questions or queries you may have.

Our new extension!!

Work has almost been completed and we are adding the finishing touches, all inspections have been carried out and we hope to start using the new rooms from Tuesday 8th October.

We will be splitting the children into three teams, red, yellow and blue group. This may mean a move and a change of keyworker for some children. Keep an eye out for a letter explaining all the changes and allocation for your child.

Coloured posters will be on the doors so you can clearly see which room your child will be in.

This is an exciting time and will provide lots more play opportunites for your child to continue to support their development.
