Our Learning this Week
Nursery PM 9th May 2014

Language, Literacy & Communication

We have read some fab books this week and children are getting much better at listening and responding. We read “Fox’s Socks” by Julia Donaldson and we loved the story called “Someone Bigger” about a kite being blown away in the wind.

Children are becoming more confident to talk during check- in.

Mathematical Development

We explored the Numicon by building towers with the shapes and pegs.

We have been singing lots of number rhymes and counting numbers over 20 at registration time.

Knowledge and Understanding of the World

We have been exploring the sand tray, making sandcastles and pretending to make ice-creams.

We cooked chocolate chip cookies as a treat which were very tasty.

Personal and Social Development, Well Being and Cultural Diversity

We talked about keeping our teeth nice and healthy as we had the Designed to Smile team come into school to give those children who had consent their magic sparkles (fluoride coating).

Creative Development

We made black and white paintings this week as well as practising our cutting and sticking making collage pictures.

Physical Development

We having been moving and grooving to Sticky Kids songs this week. Our favourites have been the Wiggle and Jiggle song and Lets go Driving song.

Welsh Language Development

We are trying to become more confident saying Prynhawn Da (Good afternoon) when we come in in the afternoon.

We are also getting better at sing or goodbye songs in Welsh…Da iawn!

Anything else!

Don’t forget, bring your child’s WOW vouchers into school so we can see what they have been up to at home and celebrate in class.
