Our weekly update 06.11.15 Reception A

Our Learning this Week

Reception
6th November 2015

Language, Literacy and Communication

Our new topic is “Happiness” so we worked in groups to mind map everything we could think of about being happy.

Our new letter sound was “e” and we practised writing it using brushes in gold glitter.

Mathematical Development

We counted fireworks this week using the rhyme “10 Little Fireworks” which helped us count up and down between 0 and 10.

We practised writing our numbers to record how many fireworks we had counted.

Knowledge and Understanding of the World

We talked about the mouse pad on the lap top and used the virtual sparkler app to practise making things move with the mousepad.

Forest School was fantastic!! We made mud paint, when on a caterpillar hunt to find Mrs. Caterpillar’s missing babies, we climbed trees and had a fun game of group hide and seek.

Personal and Social Development, Wellbeing and Cultural Diversity.

Our new topic this term is “Happiness”. We watched a clip from the film Inside Out and talked about happy memories.  We had an assembly about keeping safe during bonfire night.

Creative Development

We made some firework collages and printed with different tools to make fireworks.

We learnt a song with Miss. Silke about a chugging train, changing the speed of our singing from slow to fast.

Physical Development

We used the PE benches with Jonathon to practice balancing and jumping.

We did lots of movement to the song “If your happy and you know it”

Welsh Language Development

We practised our Welsh colour when making our firework pictures.

We read about Fflic a Fflac playing hide and seek “yn y goedwig”.

                      Anything else…
